Escapist Records put up Territory – Sic Semper Tyrannis for free
Escapist Records follows the example of Panic Records, who recently put up the Run With The Hunted LP for free download.
Now, after streaming the record, Escapist Records has made Territory’s debut 12″ LP, Sic Semper Tyrannis, available for free digital download. The full statement taken from the label’s website is as follows:
The landscape of how music is consumed by the masses has changed drastically over the years, and as of late it has been changing on a daily basis. In an effort to make our music more widely accessible to as many people as possible we as an independent record label must continue to evolve. The business model of a record label is the same as it ever was, to share the art contained on albums in an effort to recoup expenses. That will never change. However, the evolution of the Internet and digital media has and will continue to have an impact on the music industry, independent or major label.
In response to this evolution, Escapist Records and Territory are offering up the debut LP, Sic Semper Tyrannis, from the Tucson, AZ hardcore band for free digital download. Our goal has and will always be the same: we want to share the art – the music and the visual – with as many people as possible. Below you will find a links for the music and lyrics as well as the website of the artist involved with the work throughout the entire layout.
We hope that those of you that do download and listen to the record will support all the individuals involved with the release, whether it is by purchasing a physical copy of the album, attending one of the band’s shows, viewing the artist’s work, or sharing the information with others.
