ICONIC LAS VEGAS POP PUNKS, MERCY MUSIC, SIGN WITH SQUIDHAT RECORDS. NEW ALBUM SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER, 2014 RELEASE
SquidHat Records, in a partnership with Tighten It Up Entertainment, Inc., is proud to announce the signing of Mercy Music, a high energy pop-punk unit fronted by Las Vegas mainstay, Brendan Scholz. Mercy Music are currently recording their debut album which will be released locally in September and worldwide on October 14, 2014.
“I’ve been a big fan of Brendan’s music since Deadhand.” said SquidHat Records President and founder, Allan Carter. “His natural gift for songwriting and passion for his art gives our roster a fresh voice and the music loving population at large something to be hopeful about.”
Brendan Scholz’s first solo project “Mercy Music” shows us yet another side of the artist, bringing his aptitude for songwriting to the forefront and showcasing his unique, gripping and amazingly diverse voice. With Mercy Music we find a new accessibility from Scholz, a vulnerability that blends beautifully with the Pop atmosphere of the music. Mercy Music allows Scholz’s lyrics to shine, and his words remain contagious and thoroughly soulful while being laid against complex guitar arrangements, which will be familiar and also surprising to anyone who knows of Scholz’s previous work. Mercy Music truthfully stands to show no mercy to listeners in terms of how much quality music they can handle.
In a partnership with Tighten It Up Entertainment, Mercy Music’s first full length album will be released locally on September 8, 2014 and then to retail nationally and internationally on October 14, 2014, on SquidHat Records, with extensive tour support to follow.
