The DVD is awesome! I also really liked the show in Amsterdam, not because they were brilliant, but because I saw 15 year olds and 50 year olds on crutches going mad, holy shit. Rock for light, if that record had better production it would be even better than it is now. The intro of … Continue reading Reply To: Bad Brains

Rock for light is one of the best hardcore records ever. Never really got into the newer stuff, HRยดs sideproject is pure crap. Reggae with double bass beats… give me a break
I think this interviewer did a really good job interviewing HR, and got pretty close to what I think might be the ‘essence’ of him: http://www2.citypaper.com/music/story.asp?id=16871
Cool story.
I think the production of ‘Rock for light’ is actually pretty good for that time… but the ROIR cassette can never be beaten…the songs that are on both records are definitely better on the ROIR cassette…it’s wilder haha! I went to Brussels to see them on their last tour and it was kinda sad…. my … Continue reading Reply To: Bad Brains
That was a nice read indeed, thanks for linking it Kudel!
Y’all should read: ‘DANCE OF DAYS-two decades of punk in the nation’s capital’. Very entertaining stuff about all your favourite DC bands.
This sounds interesting, going to check this out later when I have the time to properly listen to it. Thanks for posting!
Don’t get me wrong, I was not trying to launch a debate here. JJ’s declaration after the Japanese flood were disappointing as well. This won’t keep me from listening to the Cro-Mags.
That’s a shame, because it’s good to have a (good) debate now and then ๐ As for JJ, awesome singer, awesome band and he was really cool when we played a show with them but indeed, that what you just mentioned, his countless posts about conspiracies (the one more unbelievable than the other. Don’t get … Continue reading Reply To: Bad Brains
what is this story about the food at the Innocent?
Can’t seem to find the picture anymore, but it was something like this: He posted a picture on his Facebook(?) where he was holding a container bag that had the food in it that the Innocent cooked for them. He put a comment with it that said something along the lines of the food being … Continue reading Reply To: Bad Brains
Funny thing. If a new band would come along with members making harsh anti gay statements or spewing some of the lunacy JJ has of late, the entire ‘scene’ would be ready to piss all over them, and there would be no debate that you should not listen to their music. But when it’s accomplished, … Continue reading Reply To: Bad Brains
Totally agree (the first part, I don’t care about Morrissey at all), that’s why I said “I know it’s hypocrite”.
I don’t agree with you, Morrissey didn’t “dismiss” the Norwegian tragedy at all! What happened is that just before playing “Meat is Murder” he said: [quote]”We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried … Continue reading Reply To: Bad Brains
