A new song (video) and pre-orders are up for the new Make Do And Mend record, Everything You Ever Loved http://makedoandmend.merchnow.com/ So far, not sure about the new song. Sounds a bit (too) polished to me, lacking that raw and recognizable edge that made End Measured Mile so great. But let’s wait and see what … Continue reading Make Do And Mend – Everything You Ever Loved
Should have been there… Talked about when the tour was announced, but totally forgot about it. Rest of the line-up was pretty terrible, but would have loved to see Make Do And Mend.
I almost forgot about this interview with the singer of Rise And Fall. It’s another one from the vault, another one originally intended for issue #2.
Spawn, Repel fanzine & records, True Blue, Reaper Records. These names should ring a bell. They’re all linked to one person, Patrick Kitzel.
Talking about his bands (The Real Danger, Nothing Done, Know Your Enemy, Uppercut a.o.), artwork (Mental, No Turning Back a.o.) and his life.
Pim had a talk with Freddy Alva about growing up in NYC, acupuncture, favorite shows, Last Cause, Wardance Records and of course, the New Breed compilation.
A personal and indepth interview with with Jon Biviano (Supertouch, ex- Windfall, Running Like Thieves and more) about the past, present and future.
Pim had a chat with Ryan Young of Off With Their Heads.
Any opinions yet? I’m still very much digesting this… But for now, I see festival fields filled with pink hatted people in the future of this band. That’s both a good and a bad thing I guess.
An almost sold out Aloys, Eindhoven kicking off the European tour of Make Do And Mend.
My first impression was pretty good. Some tracks are better than others (but that’s pretty much always the case), it’s no End Measured Mile, but all in all…. Not bad at all. I don’t think I’ll be listening to this one as much as End Measured Mile though, but maybe it will grow on me.
Funny thing is, I like the two ‘ballads’ very much, especially St. Anne, because of the beautiful lyrics. Lucky is the stand out song by far, if you ask me. It does not even fit in very well with the rest of the record, IMHO. Listened to it 8 times by now and there are … Continue reading Reply To: Make Do And Mend – Everything You Ever Loved
Thanks for the support in 2012 people. Before we’re entering 2013 we would like to look back a final time. Time for the infamous yearlists again!

When I read your post I feared for the worst, but this sounds a lot like End Measured Mile to me? Yes it’s a bit more polished (as in the whole sound is less direct, his voice still sounds the same), and hopefully this is one of the more relaxed songs, but I like it! … Continue reading Reply To: Make Do And Mend – Everything You Ever Loved
I’m always the sceptic Pim, pessimistic by nature. 😉 Second listen already sounded a lot beter, haha.
