Crosshatch – Full Speed Ahead

Crosshatch is a New York trio playing mid tempo indie rock infused with punk rock elements. Their debut EP Full Speed Aheadis pretty good if you are into that sort of music. It seems there is a lack of enthusiasm for all the acoustic punk that we heard the last couple of years and since the nineties are making a comeback, why not appealing radio friendly guitar songs?

The seven songs remind me a bit of bands like The Loves Ones without punk being overly present. Nice melodies, pretty catchy hooks and guitar playing and overall varied songs. The vocals could have been somewhat stronger, they lack strength and suffer from not the greatest production.

But apart from that I recommend giving Full Speed Ahead a listen. Could be the start of something great.
