Blood for Blood, all their stuff is good (except for that last e.p., serenity i think? Did not like that that much) but Living In Exile and Outlaw Anthems are my personal favs. How cool was that show in Hilversum (if i’m correct) in 1997?
Good question… I mainly miss Restless Youth & Union Town. State Of Mind. But you know about them. Tenement Kids is great, but probably not considered ‘hardcore’ 😉 New Morality (curious to hear the new stuff!) & Cornered are doing great. The same goes for Citizens Patrol. This Routine Is Hell, Sex Drive, Screw Houston, … Continue reading Reply To: Current Dutch hardcore???
Think different. One of the best ad campaigns ever! (I have one of them (self-made replica) on the wall in my office). But typing this from a Windows PC. Don’t see that changing anytime soon.
La Dispute, Title Fight, Make Do And Mend & Into It. Over It. Rold saw them in Belgium, Pim in the Netherlands. Did they have a similar experience?
I was pretty skeptical to say the least, but when “Into The Future” was put online, my skepticism slowly melted away…
I think the Saul series are going to be a comedy? That’s a bit different from Breaking Bad. I’ll check it out no doubt, but I’m not that excited about it (yet) either.
From what I take it from the topicstarter, it’s not so much personal preference that needs to shine here, but bands that shaped the sound of the 00′s and chosing a song that represents them best. So I guess that does mean some obvious choices. Thats why I chose Wake The Dead for … Continue reading Reply To: Best 100 songs of 00
What I just love about hardcore is discovering a new band you’re instantly in to and only weeks later, the opportunity arises to do a show for them. On your best mate’s birthday no less! So stoked to see Incendiary play in this bar way too small and completely inapproriate for HC shows! 😈 Ilya … Continue reading 25-02-12 Ilya Teqilya Birthday Fest w/ Incendiary (USA), A Strength Within (B)+3
If people want to help spread flyers, you can find some here. Print them and spread them. DIY :)Posters is a good idea. Didn’t think of that yet. I can make and print A3 posters so if anyone has a spot for them in a venue or whatever, let me know and I’ll hook you … Continue reading Reply To: How do we get people to post more on this messageboard?
If you’re remotely into NYHC styled bands you should check this out.
oh… oops… Now that you mention it, I think I own one 3” cd as well. Bought it mainly out of curiosity.
literature is, in my opinion, for a large part books for people who hope a book will make them look interesting… 😉 Or it’s a marketing trick. Think of thrillers that are all of a sudden a “literaire thriller” (sorry, don’t know the correct English translation). A comment I once read about this: “well, it’s … Continue reading Reply To: Books
I think it depends in how much effort you’d like to invest in selling your stuff. For instance if you take a big cardboard box, fill it up with shirts and sell them for 2 euros each at a festival like Groezrock, you can sell a lot in a short period of time. Then again … Continue reading Reply To: Best way to sell records and shirts?
What do you guys think of a ‘dual review’ or a ‘group review’? Maybe pick one record a month or something and let multiple people from the team talk about it. Maybe one guy will like it, the other one will hate it? They could argue about it. Defend it, trash it? 🙂 It’s not … Continue reading Reply To: In the works
Hey Ben, I completely understand what you’re trying to say (Rold mentioned it once before too). On the other hand, you have to scroll down to see them, it’s not like it’s the first thing you see. The first thing you should see are the “The Freshness” (does anyone get it’s a stupid reference to … Continue reading Reply To: Front page – Most popular posts
You’re free to suggest a different song right? And these are some of the songs that shaped hardcore for me and represent in my eyes the sound of that band. Every song I came up with I had to double check if it was in fact from the 00′s… 😀
Yeah I think … Continue reading Reply To: Best 100 songs of 00
hehehe:
In the midst of building a high def video website for a client: Client: So, I’m starting to this this video site idea is a bad thing. I just don’t think that broadband penetration in the US is there yet. It’s only 26% in US households. Me: [Dumbfounded] The US numbers are way higher … Continue reading Reply To: Clients From Hell
I agree, maybe I will do a list of 7″ in a big cartel first and then bring the rest including shirts and stuff to a show or festival. I don’t think Groezrock is a smart idea, maybe something smaller and less hassle to take it inside and sell it.
